AFRICAN AMERICAN/HISPANIC MARKETS
To complement the racially and ethnically diverse focus groups conducted by ArtsMarket as part of their 2001-2002 market analysis, Durham Arts Council contracted with W.G. Smith & Associates to conduct two focus groups dedicated to African American arts participants and one focus group dedicated to Hispanic arts participants. The focus groups were used to analyze the arts participation perceptions and patterns with young professionals and young families, looking at areas of programming, customer service and information sources. The focus group design and script was developed in the fall of 2002 and the actual focus groups were conducted on February 27, 2003. Click here to download the final report describing and analyzing the focus group findings in PDF format. The principals for the project were W.G. Smith and Donald Baker.
