Q&A: The Durham Arts Council’s Fletcher Performing Arts Fund of the Triangle Community Foundation

The Fletcher Performing Arts Fund provides subsidies to Triangle-based nonprofit arts organizations self-producing live performing arts performances in the Fletcher Hall of the Carolina Theatre. The Fund was established by the A.J. Fletcher Foundation and the Durham Arts Council during plans for the renovation of the Carolina Theatre.

Who is eligible to apply?

Non profit 501(c)3 arts organizations based in the Triangle Region which are self-producing a live performance in the Fletcher Hall of the Carolina Theatre.

How do you apply for a grant?

The applicant will receive an application from the Carolina Theatre staff when they reserve dates in Fletcher Hall. If they receive an award it will be reflected as a credit on their final statement.

How much can we expect to be awarded?

Award size is determined by the number of eligible requests and the amount of annual income available. In recent years a production has been awarded $1,000 for the first performance with subsequent performances awarded a lesser amount.
