The Durham Arts Council’s historic building is home to four exhibit spaces: the Allenton Gallery (on the first floor), the Semans Gallery (on the second floor), the Ella Fountain Pratt Legacy Gallery (on the second floor) and the Truist Gallery occupied by the Durham Art Guild (also on the first floor).

The Durham Arts Council facilitates visual artists by providing unique and visible exhibition spaces. The shows at the Durham Arts Council are always changing and reflecting the community, whether it be teacher inspired works, a group show or a new artist’s first solo exhibition.

What galleries do the Durham Arts Council exhibit in?

We exhibit out of the Allenton and Semans Galleries. The Allenton gallery is on the first level of  DAC, while the Semans is on the second level, adjacent to the balcony.

Does the DAC take commission from artist sales?

Yes, the DAC takes a 30% commission of the artist sales (before tax), so the artist will receive 70% of the commission. Please keep this in mind when pricing your work.
