PSI Theatre

The PSI Theatre is one of the best small performance theatre spaces in the area. It is on the Upper Level of the Durham Arts Council just beyond Semans Gallery. The PSI Theatre is perfect for a theatre performance, pageant, film showing, seminar, lecture, musical or dance performance or recital, or other business and community meetings.

The theatre features upholstered, raked theatre seating with capacity up to 200. Its flat Marley dance floor can be adapted for any use. Four dressing rooms (2 are included in the base rental) feature restrooms, showers, and dressing/make-up areas. The adjacent Duke Power Rehearsal Studio may be used as a Greenroom for an additional cost. The theatre’s Tech Booth has a 96 channel light board, 10 channel sound board and spotlight. DAC’s Theatre Operations Manager/Technical Director operates the theatre, and will assist clients in creating their lighting and sound plans.

Semans Gallery is included with the PSI Theatre rental for purposes of ticket sales, a 1 hour pre-show or post-show reception and meet and greets.

• $400 per performance Friday – Sunday* (rental of theatre includes use of Semans Gallery for ticket sales and 1 hour non-seated reception)
• $350 per performance Monday – Thursday*
• $30.00 per hour Technical Director
• $45.00 per hour Technical Director beyond 8 hours in one day

Tech Day
One tech day is included with rental of the theatre at no additional rental fee to accommodate setup for lights, sound, staging, and rehearsal time. Technician fees are applicable.
