Room DescriptionsPavilionThe Pavilion is the grand space you enter when visiting the Durham Arts Council. It is two stories tall surrounded by large glass windows on three sides with the fourth side the original historic building façade. This space contains a large winding staircase that leads to a second level balcony. Halfway up the staircase, there is a landing that is perfect for displaying a wedding cake, showcasing an art piece or photograph or other creative use. Suspended from the high ceiling are twinkling lights that make you feel like you are under the stars. This space also has two 15-foot trees which you may decorate to add to the festive atmosphere. The Pavilion is great acoustically for music (bands, groups or DJ) and is perfect for dancing. This is a very versatile and beautiful space. You may also decorate as you like. Use the Pavilion along with the Allenton Gallery for larger, dinners-and-dancing, weddings and wedding receptions and press conferences or any formal affair you have in mind.
